Since my recent retirement, many people have asked me what retirement is like.
Well, the best way for me to convey it to you 'working folks' is to use a Weekend Analogy.
During all of those working years, I always held my weekends to be sacred - my time, to do whatever I wanted. 3-day weekends were even better; and the occasional 4-day weekend was always the ultimate.
So then, what is retirement like? Well, retirement is like a long succession of 7-day weekends that stretches out ahead to the horizon, one after another, after another, after another; unending, inviting, exciting, and most pleasurable.
As pictured above, I'll be up that road a ways, in the midst of one of those 7-day weekends, with a great big smile on my face!

Update:
Well, it's been several years now, and I'm a ways up that road pictured above; and there is indeed a great big smile on my face. Retirement is a gooood gig!

Milestone 2019:
I have now completed sixty-five journeys around the Sun - a major milestone in anyone's life, and a great accomplishment for sure. But even more importantly for me, I believe that I have now accumulated sufficient momentum to propel myself beyond this solar system, beyond this existence, and beyond this veiled 'human reality'; into that 'true reality' that exists beyond the capabilities of human comprehension and understanding, and into other dimensions beyond the reach of human senses or intellect. This is my Milestone - I am eager, and I am excited, as I now stand poised to embark on this next great adventure in my life-journey.
And in the meantime, I am happy and content to be 'sixty-five and still alive'.
